Community United Methodist Church
Welcome, we invite you to join our family at Community United Methodist
church every Sunday as we grow in fellowship, spiritual growth, and worship. We guarantee that we'll
welcome you warmly!
Everything we provide grows out of our love of worshiping God. God loves you
and wants you to experience abundant and eternal life through his son Jesus Christ.
We want to be your church family and we seek to be a church
that offers practical, meaningful teaching for all age groups. We
are also learning what it truly means to be an authentic community
of believers.
We desire to provide quality programs that not only meet the
needs of the community but also provide a place for the passion
which Christ has placed in you to grow. So let us know what you
are passionate about.
It is our prayer that you will consider joining us and make Community
United Methodist Church your home. I look forward to meeting you and your family.
God's Blessings!
The Guatemala Construction and Medical Mission Team, April 5-12, 2015, AND June 7-17, 2015. We pray for God's Blessings and Safety for the Missions Teams.

"I urge you to save and do whatever it takes to participate in a short term mission trip overseas (out of US) as soon as possible. It will enlarge your heart, expand your vision, stretch your faith, deepen your compassion, and fill you with a kind of joy you have never experienced. It could be the turning point in your life." ~ Pastor Rick Warren ~ from A Purpose Driven Life.
The 2015 projects will be both construction and medical. There will be TWO teams going in 2015.

Team One: April 5 thru 12, 2015. Marsha Kolsters will lead this trip. It was her fourth time on a mission trip to Porch de Salomon. Marsha is a member of Community United Methodist Church in Oakdale.

Team Two: June 7 thru June 17, 2015. Claudia Parrish will lead this trip. It will also be her fourth time on a mission trip to Porch de Salomon. Claudia is a member of Centenary United Methodist Church in Modesto. In addition to the week in Panajachel, One to three nights will be spent in Antigua with some time for sightseeing and shopping before returning to the U.S. The cost is under $1500 per person and includes the majority of the expenses (all food and lodging) of the trip and the contribution towards the house project.

The next meeting was held Sunday, October 12th at Centenary United Methodist Church. If you know of a medical professional, especially a dentist, that may be interested; please invite them to the next meeting. High school students may join the team too. Fundraising projects will be the focus of the meeting, but other questions were addressed.

Application forms, insurance and background check papers are available. We will be flying on AeroMexico and able to take two extra bags. We usually fill these with donations. We will also have a list of donations that you can start collecting. I was surprised how many donations I received from my co-workers when I told them what I was doing. The meetings are also a great way to get to know your fellow team members.

On April 5-12, 2015, the missions group served in Panajachel, Guatemala to assist the Jesus-based ministries of Porch de Salomon
to work on a community multi-purpose building. It will be used for meetings, offices, visiting doctors examination rooms, etc...
We pray for each of the team members, the Porch, the home churches, for the congregations and all for those that will be touched by this important work.
